This is a work in progress. We took the 1890 overview map and aligned the Public Garden with the new Boston 3D map from Olde South Publishing. We did this by eye. Then we "cut" some transparency in the Boston 3D map so you can see through the new map to the 1890 world below. This was done using Microsoft Picture It!, a low cost photo editing tool. You can recreate this "cutting" process by painting transparent and non-transparent sections onto the Boston 3D map using Picture-It. This file is a compressed JPEG. It is also available as a Picture-It Mix file that you can edit yourself. Later we plan to make these type of images available within our                      application.
